Systemat then assumes responsibility for the installation of the operating system (Linux or Windows) and the configuration of the applications selected (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft). Once installed in production mode (that is accessible via Internet), you have all the administration possibilities of your dedicated server by remote maintenance. You can now use it in different ways as an extranet, Internet or supplementary server for testing or an active DRP server in the event of a major accident in your company. Regular and automatic exchanges of back-up files between your production server and the Systemat data center ensure the synchronisation of data between the two machines.
Very similar to the real server, the virtual server behaves in practically the same way. Now available from Systemat in the VMware version, the virtual server has the main advantage of zero investment. The resources, processors, RAM and disks are leased "à la carte" depending on requirements. All aspects concerning the maintenance of hardware, backups, monitoring and continuity are services included in the lease of the virtual server. For the rest, all the advantages of a dedicated server are retained: choice of OS, freedom of installation of applications, etc.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) consists in hosting a work station with its operating system in a virtual machine. In VDI, the application is no longer only served by Citrix but the Os and all applications are streamed to the remote user. This special technique is an additional step in the process of virtualisation. For example, it is applicable for graphic applications which require a large number of screen refreshes in an OS different to that of the user logged-on. Like the hosting of virtual servers, the resources, processor, disk, RAM are available "à la carte".
Systemat ensures the security of your e-mails. Before entering your mail server, messages pass through an intermediate automatic anti-virus and anti-spam scanning system. Therefore, your mail traffic, now freed of any unwanted pollution, is reduced and your Internet connection is less loaded. The Internet connection is now more efficient for professional applications. Any suspect messages held back by the system are stored by Systemat in quarantine space accessible to the network manager.
Among the Cloud services shared with Systemat, you can opt for disk space on the SAN. This space, which is let in units of 5 Gb is provided on a high performance, redundant platform. Furthermore, all OS, applications or data placed in it are backed-up from disk to disk every day with a retention time of one week. Backups are outsourced once a week.
Security of access to the real or virtual servers in the Systemat data center may be assured by the installation of VPN from site to site or SSL VPN access for isolated users. Based on Cisco and Citrix solutions, these VPNs or SSL VPNs are available in the form of a service proposed among the shared options.
When conventional VPN and id/password identifier control techniques are not sufficient, strong authentication completes the package. Access to applications is only gained if two factors are confirmed: "what you know (fixed id and password)" & "what you have" (dynamic password). The conventional id and password must be completed by a password generated dynamically by the "token". This key ring fitted with an LCD display generates passwords on demand every time a button is pressed.
For domain names, Systemat handles all registration and renewal procedures with accredited agents. As the term falls due, the proprietor is informed automatically and proactively by e-mail and by telephone to renew the domain name or names.
Systemat offers standard solutions for the hosting of e-mail addresses in your domain name. The mail boxes are scanned for viruses and spams and are accessible in the pop3 exchange protocol and webmail.
In the Hosted Exchange environment (Outlook webaccess) or in Lotus Notes, Systemat provides a turnkey solution for those looking for the features of extended messaging without the basic investment.
